Joseph S Goetz is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology and has over 30 years of experience practicing ophthalmology and has been fellowship trained in cataract surgery. He specializes in pediatric and general ophthalmology.
Goetz received his bachelor in Public Health as a Phi Beta Kappa graduate at UCLA and went on complete his doctorate from UCLA's School of Medicine. He completed his residency for ophthalmology at the Martin Luther King Jr General Hospital/Drew School of Medicine.
While maintaining private practice, Dr. Goetz had the privilege of completing his fellowship for cataract surgery at the Southern California Lions Eye Institute under Robert Sinskey M.D., the 20th century's top innovator in cataract surgery and a member of the ASCRS Hall of Fame. Sinskey even offered his practice to Goetz.
Goetz is also hand selected for peer review medical evaluation for several specialists for various medical issues including medical therapies, surgeries, utilization management issues, disability reviews and impairment ratings.
In 1989 Dr. Goetz was awarded the Outstanding Physician Award at the Venice Family Clinic as the Staff Ophthalmologist while tending to the underprivileged and homeless.
He is also currently the staff ophthalmologist at the Seven Acres Jewish Geriatric Center.
His parents are both Holocaust survivors and wrote detailed memoirs of their experiences. Click here to see their stories. A portion of the proceeds will go to a foundation for Jewish education in the Houston Area.
